Englander Pellet Stove

Today everyone is looking for a cheap way to hear their home. My husband and I are no exception. Several years ago a friend of ours suggested that we look into purchasing an Englander pellet stove.  Our friend owned one, and we had admired it for many years.  When our friend told us how inexpensive it was for him to heat his home with his pellet stove we were definitely interested.

Our friend explained to us that Englander pellet stoves can be bought in several different sizes. He said the size pellet stove we need to buy depends on the size of our home and how much space we intend to heat with the pellet stove.  He said that before we visited and talked with an Englander pellet stove specialist we should have the information to help make the best pellet stove choice. We'd need to know about how our home is insulated. The salesperson would need an idea of the layout of our home and the estimated sizes of the rooms we intend to heat. We'd also need to decide if the pellet stove would be the primary or secondary heat source for our home.

Another important question was how we wanted to interact with the stove. The area of a pellet stove where pellets are stored to be burned is called the hopper.  Hopper sizes range from 40 pounds to 100 pounds.  It's suggested you have a hopper big enough to hold at least one day's worth of pellets. Some stoves are manually operated, some have automatic controls. Of course an Englander pellet stove with automatic controls is going to cost more than a manually operated stove.

We like the idea of an Englander pellet stove over a traditional wood stove because wood pellets are easier to store and move around than wood and pellets are CO2 neutral when they are burned.

Englander has been making stoves for thirty years. Our friend purchased his stove ten years ago and has had trouble free use. Their stoves have great features like one touch ignition and double auger systems.  They have built in blowers and remote or wall thermostats. Englander pellet stoves such as the 2,200 sq. ft. 25-PDV and the  1,500 sq. ft 25-PDVC are EPA approved.

Another reason to choose Englander pellet stoves is their friendly and knowledgeable customer service representatives.  We didn't see any reason to choose any other pellet stove than an Englander.
