Clean Burning Efficient Quadra-Fire Pellet Stoves

In an effort to be more ecologically conscious and to save money, my husband and I decided to take the plunge and buy a Quadrafire pellet stove. We like the idea of burning pellets, which are actually made from wood chips and sawdust and we like the idea they burn CO2 neutral. We also like the idea that we can save hundreds if not thousands of dollars on our home heating costs. We live in a fairly large older home that has an oil furnace and we're going broke keeping the oil tank filled.
My husband and I both grew up in homes with traditional wood fireplaces, and our first home had a fireplace. As much as we lie fireplaces we like the idea of clean burning wood pellets. Bags are much easier to store than cords of wood and the waste is easier to clean.
One of the reasons my husband and I chose a Quadrafire pellet stove is the fact that it can burn a wide arrange of bio fuels. We've read that as the price of energy has gone up, wood pellets have gone up in popularity and they can be scarce. Our Quadrafire pellet stove can also burn wheat, corn and sunflower seeds.
Quadra-Fire has a pellet stove to suit any home and any homeowner. The Castile is their 1,500 sq. ft. stove. The Quadrafire SantaFe stove is also a 1,500 sq. ft. stove. The Classic Bay 1200 will easily warm up to 2,500 sq. ft. of living space. The stove we chose, the Mt. Vernon AE will heat up to 3,800 sq. ft. of living space.
We liked the look of the Mt. Vernon AE and chose to get a log set for the stove. A log set helps to give the stove more of a natural look. We liked the fact the stove has an 81 pound hopper capacity so it won't have to be filled as often.
Before choosing the perfect Quadrafire pellet stove my husband and I sat down and discussed how much of the home we wanted to be able to heat. We decided we wanted the largest stove, the Mt. Vernon AE. When we talked with the sales representative he gave us ideas about where to locate the stove in the home for best results. We discussed the building construction and type of insulation present in our home. This gave us a more realistic view of how each stove would work for us.
We've been using our Quadra-Fire pellet stove for several months now. The oil furnace has been set to 65 degrees and hasn't come on at all. We're thrilled with the look of our stove, how easy it is to operate and the money we're saving keeping our family comfortably warm.
